Summary
THe detail within this Executive Summary is taken from the Audit's full report. The National Bowel Cancer Audit Annual Report 2009 describes the clinical details and outcomes of patients diagnosed between April 2006 and July 2008. There has been a substantial increase in Trust participation, case ascertainment and data completeness allowing more detailed comparisons between Trusts. Ninety-five per cent of Trusts submitted data for this annual report and 20,262 cases were submitted for the 2007/8 reporting period, representing 68 per cent of the expected incident cases.
