Summary
The National Bowel Cancer Audit covers all patients in England and Wales with a diagnosis of bowel cancer. The aim of the audit is to better understand the quality of care given to patients with bowel cancer and thereby help services to improve. This will be achieved by evaluating trusts' processes of care and outcomes of treatment and measuring these outcomes against national standards. This third Public and Executive Summary of the annual report from the National Bowel Cancer Audit presents findings on data submitted to the National Bowel Cancer Audit for 2008.
