Summary
This is the Second Annual Report of the National Oesophago- Gastric Cancer Audit, produced as part of the National Clinical Audit Support Programme. The principal activity of the Audit since the First Annual Report has been the prospective collection of data on patients diagnosed with O-G cancer in England and Wales. This process is still ongoing. In this report, we describe: • the process of diagnosis, staging and treatment planning for patients diagnosed between 1 October 2007 and 31 March 2009 • the treatments received by patients diagnosed between 1 October 2007 and 30 September 2008, together with their short-term outcomes of care. Longer-term outcomes of care will be the focus of the Third Annual Report when the collection of data will have finished.
