Summary

The Improving Access Psychological Therapies (IAPT) data set is a regular return of data generated by providers of IAPT services in the course of delivering these services to patients. The data also includes information from Independent Sector Organisations who are also providers of NHS IAPT services.

The IAPT data set is received by the Health and Social Care Information Centre as record level anonymised data from patient administration systems.

Highlights

This first release of experimental analysis from IAPT Q1 data, April 2012 to June 2012 shows that:

  • Over 100 providers were successful in submitting data and the data set is now flowing to the Health and Social Care Information Centre for central reporting
  • There were 202,249 new service requests that began in the quarter
  • Other elements of the data set are not yet being completed with the accuracy required to support reliable reporting.
