Summary

  • Of the main groups, Consultants showed the highest overall vacancy rates (1.2 per cent)
  • Nursing showed the lowest rates (qualified 0.5 per cent and unqualified 0.4 per cent)
  • For all medical and dental staff the SHAs with the highest rates were the South East Coast (2.0 pre cent) and the North East (1.9 per cent) with the lowest rate in the West Midlands (0.6 per cent)
  • In each of the main staff groups in the non-medical area, the SHA with the highest rate was, in most areas, either the South East Coast or London, with the lowest rates being in the South West.
