Why do we publish this data?

The Prime Minister, in his letter (external) (Opens in a new window) to his cabinet colleagues, has made a number of commitments to greater data transparency in government. This includes the commitment to the publication on (external) (Opens in a new window) of specific documents including:

  • Departmental spending data (from June 2010)
  • Salaries above £150,000 (from June 2010)

As part of a Government-wide initiative to publish the business costs of board members and senior level officials in public sector organisations, our board expenses for the new HSCIC organisation will be published here when available.

Spend over £25,000

The coalition government is committed to increasing transparency across Whitehall and local authorities. The first step for central government departments was to publish on-line items of spend over £25,000 from April 2010 by 31 October 2010.

As this data becomes available we will publish details of all of our invoices paid which total over £25,000. This information is published on a monthly basis by the 15th working day. Publication of these lists forms part of our commitment to be open and transparent with the public. For data protection reasons, where payments have been made to individuals, the names are replaced with the word 'Redacted'.

This data is freely re-usable under the same terms as (external):.

The data is available in Excel or CSV format (below).
